I'd appreciate the speakers sharing information about specific
affordable meters they recommend, that people can use to
monitor their personal environment and identify radiation
sources.
Also, would they please address the issue of effective
shielding, including the risk of conductive shielding
materials serving as receiving/rebroadcasting antenna for
both communications frequencies and for the frequencies
(mainly 10 to 50 kiloHertz)of electrical pollution.
(Electrical pollution is harmful frequencies present in
household electrical current, due to utilities' inappropriate
transmission system. Members not familiar with this can
see www.LifeEnergies.com/, www.electricalpollution.com/.)

One participant has asked what the speakers thoughts are with regards to EMF exposure from phone masts and the effects on melatonin and the risks of breast cancer.

The first comment with the questions about meters, etc.
is mine.
I'm listening by phone. There is a loud, persistent whine/hum
included in the sound. Are others hearing this?

The focus on this call seems to be only on power lines and cell phone - related technology. What information is there on the inpacts of the low level chronic exposure we are now getting from wireless routers?

Eileen O'Connor, from EM Radiation Research, has asked what the speakers thoughts are with regards to EMF exposure from phone masts and the effects on melatonin and the risks of breast cancer.

I wonder if any research is being done on the difference
in effect of nos. of milliGauss of "clean" 50/60Hz fields and
those containing the
higher frequencies of electrical pollution that broadcast from
our building wiring
due to inappropriate USA utility transmission systems. The work
of Dr. Havas, and the experience of many ES people like myself
indicates that the problem is NOT field strenth, but FREQUENCY!

B. Blake Levitt, author and science journalist. I tried to comment on-air but we ran out of time. To the peson who asked what we could do re: public policy changes to help this siutation -- some suggestions include: 1. Removing Section 704 from the U.S. Telecommunications Act of 1996 that prohibits consideration of the environmental effects of RF in local cell tower siting decisions; 2. Re-fund the U.S. EPA's bioelectromagnetics research lab, once among the finest in the world but no longer in existence; 3. Create new epidemiology studies ASAP because in light of what Cindy Sage mentioned re: broadband over electric cable, it will soon be impossible to find an unexposed population for comparison. That's already difficult given the ubiquity of the technology but it may soon be impossible to tease apart RF from EMF exposures in research. While that last point may seem academic, it is still a helpful distinction at this time given that the science community is still mapping pertinent exposure parameters, as the speakers noted.
